What does Master@IBM offer you?

Within the scope of the 2-3 year Master@IBM program, we offer valuable professional experience in the area of a technical department, which you will gain in parallel to your studies. You can complete the master study course at a university (or university of applied sciences) of your choice. The duration of studies depends on the respective university and is between two and three years. The volume of work allows you to focus sufficiently on your master's degree. Nevertheless, you can expect challenging assignments in a team-oriented and dynamic environment as well as many opportunities for active co-determination. You will also write your master's thesis in collaboration with your department.

For our in-job master's program, we are looking for highly-motivated students from (IT) science-based degree courses. If you like to work in a team, work solution oriented and have good analytical skills and last but not least love to be challenged and learn something new every day then we are looking forward to receiving your application.

What can you expect from this position?

AI Engineers contribute to the co-creation of Minimal Viable Products that demonstrate business value, leading to client investment in Data & AI strategic solutions. AI Engineers will engage in solving real-world business problems in a wide array of industries around the globe using IBM technologies. You will cover all stages of the data model lifecycle from Data Engineering to Model Building, Machine Learning Operations and AI Governance to create a trusted end-to-end AI solution.

The responsibilities are:

• Creating and managing the AI development and production infrastructure.

• Train, Fine-Tune, Deploy and Operate Foundation Models.

• Automating & Optimizing AI infrastructures.

• Building AI models from scratch & Fine Tuning pre-trained models and assisting different stakeholders with analysis and implementation.

• Collaborate with clients to rapidly develop AI solutions.

The skills needed are:

• An understanding of end-to-end machine learning (ML) systems

• Understanding of key concepts in Foundation Models/Large Language Models

• Knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically Kubernetes, and expertise in leveraging them for large-scale AI or FM workloads.

• Experience with statistical and programming languages (R, Python).

• Ability to research, explore, examine and find patterns in data to answer industry and business questions.

• Understanding of MLOps to productionize Models and AI Governance to provide trusted AI systems.

• Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.

This job is only for candidates who will have finished their Bachelor studies by September 2024 (or earlier) and plan to start with a Master's Degree in autumn 2024 (Swiss university/university of applied sciences, study course of your choice).
